Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst will produce and execute test solutions for applications developed by Lincoln Learning Solutions. In this role, the desired candidate will collaborate with project team members to perform testing on applications, document and report identified bugs, and escalate issues regarding application performance.

Minimum Qualifications

The desired candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance experience with a focus on custom-developed and system integration projects. The following are highly desirable skills expected of the candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience in an enterprise setting in a quality assurance role using modern tools to capture and execute test cases/scripts.
  • Experience testing web-based technologies (e.g., ASP.NET Core, Spring, etc.)
  • Experience testing modern front-end web frameworks (e.g., Angular 2+, React, Vue)
  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Proven experience with the following technologies:
    • RDBMS (MySQL, MS SQL, or similar)
    • Consumption of third-party API’s
    • Software Development Version Tracking (Subversion, Git or similar)
  • Previous exposure to the technical items below is a plus:
    • CSS Frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap)
    • Enterprise utilization of a cloud services provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
    • Collaborating with support teams to escalate and prioritize client issues
  • Proficient in both written and oral communications
  • Proficient with productivity software (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, or similar suite)
  • PA Act 153 (criminal background check) and Act 168 (Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure) clearances

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Analyst will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle as defined by Lincoln Learning Solutions. The following are specific areas of accountability and responsibility of the position:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and project team members throughout the design, development, testing, and delivery of software solutions
  • Participate in meetings to help maintain a well-groomed and organized product backlog with the business operations team
  • Utilize industry best practices to author high quality, well-designed and maintainable test cases
  • Help maintain technical documentation with the support team to ensure technical accuracy and completeness
  • Perform any additional duties identified by the leadership team

Measurement for Success

The Quality Assurance Analyst will ensure that all assigned tasks are completed in accordance with established requirements and to the satisfaction of the project leadership team. The following are more specific metrics and benchmarks that the Quality Assurance Analyst is expected to maintain and improve:

  • Ensure acceptance criteria is well defined for upcoming tasks prior to work beginning
  • Ensure test scripts are comprehensive and based on product requirements
  • Communicate progress with the project team and escalate impediments to project leadership as necessary
  • Maintain documentation for processes or procedures relating to solutions
  • Recommend improvements in processes to project leadership

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
